THE DAY- 25th December

the-day-300x293

On 1953, Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir, Edmund Hilary made the day ‘May 29’ historic for the world after stepping on the top of the world- Mount Everest. And on 2003, ‘May 29 Memorial Trust’ made 25th of December historic for me. I was ready to get farewell from the president Mingma Tshiri Sherpa for my 17 years of world bicycle tour. Now, I am proud to inform you that it’s already been 9 years since that day.

As every year, Jingle bell rang to give the warmth of joy to the world. Santa in his red and white outfit came to boost enthusiasm, peace and harmony. We, staying in South Africa were no exception to this.

After a long monotony during the 3 months stay, I feel blessed to share about the party given by some of my friends from South Africa to energize me on the occasion of 9th year of my tour. They are Bigyan Bhandari, Baikuntha Thapa, Naina Kumar Gurung, Ram Thapa and Raj Gyanwali. My dearest friends even shut their business for the first time for me. I lack words to express my gratefulness to them. We had gathered at Pomana Lodge owned by Avatar Gurung to share the excitement of Christmas and my tour together. Besides the swimming pool, we were around 40 Nepalese gatherd to cherish the moment. We shared a lot of charm and togetherness keeping all the grief aside. It was an honor to have Deputy Ambassador of Nepal to South Africa, Bharat Regmi too. The cool shower of rain added some more excitement though it made us split from pool. It was an awesome time and I wish I had some vocabulary left to express my gratitude to everyone.

On the 5 wheels I ride (my bicycle with a 3 wheeler tailor), I am not alone. My team from USA has always been very close to me in every corner of the world. Not physically but morally. The team of Furtemba Sherpa Foundation has always been with me to inspire, motivate and energize. I just want to say THANK YOU- the biggest way. The team means a lot to me. Once again, entering a new year of journey, I am committed to share the message of Peace and Environment Protection and achieve numerous experiences. By early 2013, I will be moving ahead to next countries and this year, I plan to complete 100 countries. After being at the 100th country, I shall return to my homeland Nepal and share the experience I had in various parts of the world before moving ahead.

Once again, for all the support from years, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone witnessing and supporting my tour. Thank you very much.

Happy New Year 2013
