I entered from the border Ressano Garcia to Mozambique. I had covered 18 Km of distance before I met Jacobus Cillers. Jacobus is a South African Englishman who has been in Mozambique since two years. After a short conversation as it had started raining, he offered me a lift to Matola. I was in the midst of the highway and in such a cold weather and with a high possibility of heavy rain; I could not reject his offer. At Matola, he took me to a church: Lewende where I could spend the night of 17th August. I enjoyed the company of Luwalen Wulifir, the Pastor of Lewende church.
Early in the morning of 18th Mr. Cillers picked me for a breakfast at his home. With Jacobus and his wife Penelope I enjoyed the breakfast a lot. As the Cillers family had requested me to stay in Matola for some days, I had a very short schedule in Mozambique. Though I did not feel nice to deny the awesome company of such helpful people, I left to my next destination Maputo the same day. I reached Maputo, the evening of 18th and stayed at Dheeraj Arora and Premkrishnan Silvamani’s place.
The first place I visited in Matola was a Hindu temple and as the popular belief, I was happy to start the capital visit with the blessings all Hindu gods and goddesses. On weekend, we (I along with Dheeraj and Premkrishnan) had a very good time in the beach. Though, I felt Mozambican public not much concerned about the disposal management during the beach visit, it was fun out there. With the music striking our ears, all of us enjoyed sauntering.
To confer my message of world peace and environment protection, I sought help from Jacobus. I was very happy to get his quick approval. I am very grateful to him and I actually couldn’t even think how I would be able to repay for his many generosities. He helped me to convey my message through Mozambique TV and Noticia Newspaper. The same day, together, we went to Mayor’s office and have a fruitful conversation.
Back to Dheeraj’s Place, Premkrishnan had bought some juice for my trip. It was a great pleasure I felt when I got the intimate gift from him. I was very happy as he cared that much for me. We went Mr. Raj’s home for dinner on his invitation.
On 21st, I planned to move for Swaziland, but I delayed. After I had an interview in TV and Newspaper, I was called by some Nepalese in Mozambique and I didn’t want to leave Mozambique without meeting them. I was happy to meet all Nepalese in Mozambique. I stayed the day at Matola with Jacobus and Penelope. And again, after a wonderful breakfast with Jacobus, I left to my next destination, Swaziland on 22 of August. Meeting with Suresh Man Shrestha was unexpected that day. I had left Matola to Swaziland and he travelled a long way just to meet me. It was a delightful moment with him and his family.
In the evening I was offered a free stay at Paula Alexandra Gomes dos Santos. It is a guest house near the border of Swaziland and Mozambique. I thank the respected elderly woman and her family from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful company and sweet memories. Swaziland as my 87th country and I complete 90078 Km of cycling as I reach the Capital Mbabane.
